With rapid growth and industrialization, come environmental challenges. China now tops world for air pollution and carbon emissions, officials report.

Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei one of planet’s most polluted regions, but as of 2017 reports ‘lack of funding hampers progress on clean-up targets’

China's air pollution crisis... in almost all types of air pollution, including sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, as well as carbon emissions, China has serious tasks to clean-up the air and water as one of most polluted areas in the world.

China and India with rapidly increasing populations both confront severe air pollution challenges. China and India are ranked as most polluted among world nations.
