Florida, the 'Frontlines of Climate Change'

GreenPolicy360's Climate News Florida project was originally organized to prompt a coordinated, cooperative climate-related news effort in Florida. Numerous news publishers, media, and others were approached and after a period of initiatives, the team at the Center for Environmental Studies at the Charles Schmidt College of Science at Florida Atlantic University has run a very successful online "source for news, commentary and educational content about climate change and other environmental issues affecting Florida."

Florida is, with its geography (karst/limestone), near sea-level topography (and sea-level rise impacts), its weather (extreme 'events' and hurricanes), rapidly warming waters in the Gulf of Mexico ('super-charging' tropical storms into hurricanes), and its politics (with 'climate change denial' prevalent)... Florida is, despite those who deny the climate/atmospheric/earth science, a prime example of dynamic change at the "Frontlines of Climate Change".
