SJS / GreenPolicy360 Founder-Siterunner: A few words to say how fortunate I was to arrive in Santa Fe as the decade of the 1990s opened its doors.
My work in Los Angeles, in Pacific Palisades, in a Sunset Boulevard home ended and with a sale of my home and the purchase of an old Ford truck, away I went.
I landed with a lease, an adobe place on Camino del Monte Sol, under Sun Mountain, next to a Monastery across the street, and adjacent to St. John's College.
Soon I was advising the president of the liberal arts, classic studies college, with a goal of building a new library.
And so it began... a quest continued. Now it would be more intense, serious writing work. I had bought a futon and a table and chair. I had brought along my 'typing equipment'. The fingers on keys started anew...
'Serious writing' is what I had told Stirling Silliphant I wanted to do. He was a Hollywood client and famed writer ('In the Heat of the Night', 'Route 66' and a WGA heavyweight) who told me back then in the the mid-80s, "Kid, if you want to be a serious writer (after he perused my screenplay, "Another Perfect Day in Paradise") ya gotta get outta Hollywood. Hit the road, find your special place then you can be who you are..."
I took Stirling's advice into my soul. The Santa Fe, New Mexico phase began...
