Description:

Each month Parking and Transportation Services scours the campus and removes abandoned bikes. After a 90-day holding period, these bikes are made available for sale at low cost to UCI students and the rest of the campus community. For more information, keep an eye on the bike website for announcements about our regularly-scheduled bike fairs or contact the bicycle coordinator.

Useable bikes and bike parts that are not purchased are donated to the Bicycle Donation Program. These bikes are then cleaned up and donated to organizations such as Shelter for the Homeless in Midway City and Olive Crest Homes and Services for Abused Children in Santa Ana.

Today Nancy Chen Lane, complex coordinator for Mesa Court Housing, organizes bike clean-up events where students can help fix up the bikes.

For more information about the bicycle donation program, please contact the bicycle coordinator.

MONTHLY OPEN BIKE SALVAGE YARD
To help meet the transportation needs of the UCI community, the bike salvage yard will be opened to the public every last Wednesday of the month from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. The salvage yard is located adjacent to lot 90, and parking is available in lot 90 itself.

Sorted piles of bikes and parts will be available for salvage free of cost. Bring your own tools. Whole bicycles will also be available for purchase for $10-15.

For more information, contact Parking and Transportation Services.
