Description:

Donations needed for homeless shelters

Jan. 28, 2008: The City of Fargo and the Fargo Human Relations Commission are sponsoring their fourth-annual “Stuff the Bus” campaign, an effort to collect non-perishable food and other items for area homeless shelters. You can donate items at all area Hornbacher’s stores; Roosevelt, Horace Mann and Kennedy elementary schools in Fargo; the NDSU Memorial Union; the University Lutheran Center at NDSU; Peace Lutheran Church in Fargo; and First United Methodist Church in Fargo.

Items most needed at our shelters include:

  • linens and towels.
  • new socks and underwear.
  • toiletries.
  • winter hats and gloves.
  • disposable diapers and baby formula.
  • canned goods.
  • pots and pans.
  • board games and books.
  • laundry, cleaning and school supplies.

The donated items will be “stuffed” into a city bus and delivered to the shelters on Feb. 8 .

For more information on “Stuff the Bus,” contact the Fargo Department of Planning and Development at [email protected] or 701-241-1474.
