From your Green Policy Siterunner: Years ago in NYC, I was fortunate to edit the science writer Don Herbert, better known as "Mr. Wizard"... Many educational concepts he taught, both on his TV shows, and in his books and I was lucky to learn. Bill Nye also was a great fan of Mr. Wizard and today he carries the tradition of Don Herbert forward.
Here he speaks of one of my educational images that I have rolled out over the years, especially for kids, to illustrate how thin Earth's atmosphere is... it's a quick ride up, before we reach the limit of our atmosphere and enter "space"...
The responsibility, once we realize the thin layer of blue is limited in its height, depth, volume, is to protect the life-giving atmosphere.
