Confused about the difference between an ordinance and a code of ordinances?

An "ordinance" is a specific document that seeks to enact or amend a municipal law, statute or regulation.

The "code" of a locale is a compilation of all the enacted ordinances and it reflects all of the amendments to ordinances previously codified.
