Do you ever wonder how your City government works? Who your City Council Member is? How City Hall decides which streets to repair? The Reno Citizens Institute (RCI) may be the answer to all your questions.
- FREE 10-week course on Reno local government
- Classes held Thursday evenings, 6-9 p.m.
- Limited to 30 participants
- Spring session starts April 2009
- Certificate and recognition upon completion
Applications for the Spring 2009 Session will be accepted through March 27, 2009. RCI application
Participants meet department heads, elected officials and key professionals. You will learn about everything from the Reno Fire Department's Community Risk Reduction program to the City Attorney's Domestic Violence Unit.
The courses are hands-on and many classes include facility tours. Learn how your public officials make decisions, how funds are allocated, and how the departments work together to make your city great. RCI is a fun program for newcomers and existing residents!
Participants who attend at least 6 of the 10 classes will be presented with certificates of completion at a Reno City Council meeting.
