Bioneers - August 2014

Bioneer Marina Silva of Brazil Makes Headlines

Visionary green political leader Marina Silva, who keynoted at Bioneers 2012, is unexpectedly running for President of Brazil—and has a real chance of winning.

Marina’s Bioneers keynote offered an extraordinary vision of a new kind of politics grounded in sustainability and social and economic justice.

While she was here, we explored the possibility of bringing Bioneers to Brazil, about which she was enthusiastic. We also arranged a meeting with her, Danny Glover and representatives from Amazon Watch and the Indigenous Environmental Network.

If Marina wins, it will be a game-changer for the global politics of sustainability and justice.
